Close holes and fillet reduction. The part must be prepared for a right stamping procedures. Holes and slot require to be closed for initial stamping steps and they are going to be produced with following cut operation. The closing is made by Extend Faces/Close Solid command from Interactive Solid Modeling (ISM) tools.
Moreover, during stamping, and particularly when facing spring-back, it
may be useful to modify some high curvature areas to let the material to
'fill' in a particular way the interstitial die volume during the sheet metal
deformation. Typically, fillets often identify these high curvature areas. The
GSM Fillet Reduction command enables you to modify a set of selected
fillet surfaces by changing their curvature, while retaining the desired
continuity along borders. In this spot we are going to see both operation of
holes closing and fillet reduction. Option for shape control and quality
calculation can be defined. The command modify fillet surfaces with the respect of current position and tancency continuity. To remark that Die Design tool maintains the original quality of the modified elements and is capable of managing the complex transitions of several fillets converging on a single vertex.
